Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently visited the Samaypur Badli area to assess the ongoing road construction projects. The inspection focused on enhancing the city’s infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on the Delhi government’s commitment to ensuring a pothole-free ring road before the arrival of the monsoon season.
“The work of dense bitumen is being carried out on both sides of the ring road under a project worth Rs 12.5 crores. The repair work is progressing at a steady pace. A two-layered resurfacing is underway from Madhuban Chowk to Mukarba Chowk to eliminate potholes and provide a smoother commute. We are here to inaugurate this important work, and our aim remains to make the entire ring road free of potholes before the monsoon,” CM Gupta stated while addressing reporters.
Earlier on Monday, CM Rekha Gupta extended her greetings on the occasion of Rajasthan Diwas and the Gangaur Festival, reaffirming the Delhi government’s commitment to the welfare of Rajasthani families residing in the national capital.
Speaking at the event, she expressed her best wishes for the Gangaur Festival and highlighted its cultural significance.
“I am delighted to participate in this Rajasthan Diwas event. I extend my greetings on Rajasthan Diwas and the Gangaur Festival to all Rajasthani families living in Delhi. I assure them that the Delhi government stands with them and will continue working for their welfare, comfort, and prosperity,” she said.
The Gangaur Festival, which begins on the first day of the Chaitra month, culminates on the 18th day with grand religious celebrations. On the eve of the festival, women adorn their hands and fingers with henna, and on the final day, idols of Gan and Gauri are ceremonially immersed in a pond or nearby lake, marking the conclusion of the festivities.
